About Me
I was born in Athens, Greece, in 1977. The first years of my life were spent in institutional and foster care before I moved to the island of Hydra at the age of five, where I grew up until I was eighteen.
My educational background includes studies in Counselling and Psychology, Creative Writing, Music Theory, and Voice Training, as well as coursework in Directing, Acting, and Educational Psychology.
As a child, I loved to dream, chase the light, and sing loudly against the wind. I dreamed of becoming a monk or a missionary, traveling to Africa, spending my life alongside children, writing stories, and reading them aloud. At the same time, I dreamed of learning how to dive deep into the sea—something I never managed to do. Hearing loss in my right ear kept me away from the underwater world and from noisy crowds, but it brought me closer to writing, quiet moments, and long walks in nature.
As I grew older, I learned to embrace silence. I traveled, met people from different walks of life, and remained faithful to what my heart had always wanted to hear: stories with happy endings.
My journey into children’s literature grew out of a desire to connect with the inner world of the child. Through my stories, I strive to stand gently beside children—especially those who may have experienced different or challenging life paths—offering them a space of safety, imagination, and understanding.
At the same time, writing serves as a way for me to reconnect with those parts of childhood that still seek light, care, and healing. Through my books, I hope to share joy, dreams, and encouragement with every young reader. Yet I also write for every adult who has kept their inner child alive; for those who continue to seek wonder and hope; for all of us who sometimes need a story to remind us that there is always a small light waiting somewhere ahead to guide the way.
Today, I live and work in Athens, while never forgetting my deep love for Hydra. And although I have grown up, I still play like a child—and I have never stopped dreaming.
