Educational Material
My favorite dream is to spend half the days of the week in the company of children. Instead of going to work, I would take my books, markers, and scissors and head off to a school. Unfortunately, I cannot often “play truant” from my job, which means I am not always able to say “yes” to the invitations I receive. Sometimes the distance between us is simply too great, and other times there just isn’t enough time.
So, for those occasions when I am unable to visit your school as a guest author—and also for the times when we are planning to meet and your class would like to do a little preparation beforehand—I have gathered here some of the activities I most enjoy doing with children in the classroom.
Of course, I am not going to reveal our secret games, our little tricks, or our magical surprises. Otherwise, we might end up missing even more of our History lesson!
So, choose a book, gather your crayons, paper, and craft supplies, work together, share ideas, have fun, and create whatever your imagination inspires.
And remember: there is no right or wrong. This is a time for play, for stories, for joy, and for smiles!
